Pepsi Kendo Advert
David Beckham has taken lessons in wielding a Japanese Kendo sword - before taking part in a star-studded new Pepsi commercial. The England captain spent a fortnight training alongside ad companions Beyonce Knowles and Jennifer Lopez.
Afterwards, he was full of praise for the pair. "These two girls have been amazing. They're known all around the world, and this has been an incredible experience for me."
The multi-million-pound commercial takes the form of a gangster caper set in the Hong Kong underworld. In the ad, Becks, 29, Beyonce, 23, and J.Lo, 33, use their newly won martial arts skills to confront a bunch of hoodlums in a run-down bar.
The girls will be playing the undercover agents showing their martial arts moves together with David Beckham in Hong Kong. J.Lo, 33, and Beyonce, 23, will be wearing skintight leather catsuits, while Beckham, 29, will appear in a cool black outfit, brandishing a Japanese Kendo sword.
Both singers and Real Madrid star spent this fortnight training together. For David it is his third appearance in Pepsi ads, earlier he played a gladiator and a cowboy.
According to This is London the new ad is described as “Kill Bill meets Crouching Tiger: Hidden Dragon” and costs $1 million. The ad is to be released in 170 countries.
